Hawaii hiking trails - Lower Trail, Maui County

   
  Each backcountry hiking trail in Hawaii has something unique to offer. If you happen to be in Hawaii, why not go hiking, it is something that is always fun to do. Finally, backpacking time is here again, and Lower Trail in Maui County, Hawaii is just the spot. There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out hike. Lower Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,405 feet which is about average. Lower Trail gets a large amount of water; the wettest month of the year is regularly January, that's the one that rains the most while June is
    the month with the least amount of precipitation. The number of wilderness hiking trails in this vicinity is not very high. You'll have to go far from Kahului-Wailuku to get to Lower Trail, but if you're looking for a fine spot to go backpacking, this is a fine choice. Please follow
all local rules about fires and camping. You should count on this walk taking about 6.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. The length of Lower Trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough wilderness hiking trail for advanced backcountry trekkers looking for a glorious challenge. High temperatures at Lower Trail through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 70's. All through the winter highs are  
in the 70's, and winter nights come with lows in the 60's to Lower Trail. You spend the whole walk in roughly the same elevation zone, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole trail. Hawaii has plenty of perfect backcountry hiking trails, and Lower Trail in Maui County is one of them. Hawaii is a glorious outdoors state. Lower Trail is 7.4 miles long it's a mid length walk. Lower Trail is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip.

Briefly about the general area:
A spree to Kanaio Beach near Lower Trail is always a splendid idea; as expected, A trip to Kamole Gulch is always fun. Why not camp at Hosmer Grove Campground if you're here at Lower Trail; Lower Trail is not far at all from Kahului-Wailuku.
You are in close proximity to Wekea Point if you're here at Lower Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Oheo Campground is a fine place to camp; if you haven’t been to Haleakala National Park, you ought to schedule some time for it if you're here.
