You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 6.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. you're here at Lower Trail you will meet lots of folks from nearby Kahului-Wailuku. Camping at Oheo Campground is always a splendid experience, and a trip to Wekea Point is always a tremendous idea.
Visiting Haleakala National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't
yet, and while you're here why not have a look at Kamole Gulch. Lower Trail is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Hosmer Grove Campground is a delightful local campground, and a delightful beach nearby is Kanaio Beach.
