This backpacking and hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 76 feet, and that is lower than average. This backcountry trail sometimes gets very dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 1.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Kiholo-Puako Trail is a two ended backpacking and hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This is not a very long backcountry trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. With its 1.8 miles of walking distance it's shorter than many wilderness hiking trails. There's not much difference in elevation along Kiholo-Puako Trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish.
