Hawaii hiking trails - Kaup Trail, Maui County       Every backpacking and hiking trail in Hawaii has its own unique loveliness. You'll have to go far from Kahului-Wailuku to get to Kaup Trail, but it sure is a a magnificent backcountry trail. When was the last time you got out in nature a bit? Kaup Trail in Maui County, Hawaii is nature at its best. This is a one trailhead hiking trail, so in and out is the way to hike it normally. This trek shouldn't take more than 4 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Kaup Trail is a mid-length backcountry     hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it an outstanding wilderness trail for the average person looking for an outstanding adventure. Summertime highs at Kaup Trail mostly tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 70's with winter lows in the 60's overnight here at Kaup Trail. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Different parts of this wilderness hiking trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. This is one of a very small number of wilderness trails in this area. Kaup Trail sees pretty high levels of rainfall; March is the wettest month with most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. When you're here in Hawaii backpacking   along one of its backpacking and hiking trails is the magnificent thing to do. This is not a very long backcountry trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Hiking and backpacking trails are magnificent and plentiful in Hawaii; one of those is Kaup Trail in Maui County. In Hawaii you never run out of outdoors fun. Being 4.4 miles long it's an average length wilderness hiking trail. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 6,387 feet which is higher than average. Briefly about the general area: Visit Healani Stream while you're here at Kaup Trail; if you have the time, Haleakala National Park is a national park worth a visit. If only every site had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a great planet it would be. Paanene Spring is an inspiring place to go to while you're here; Manawainui Valley is a nice site to stretch your legs a bit. There's so much to do here at Kaup Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Oheo Campground is a brilliant place for that; beaches are fine and Waipu is no exception. Kahualau Gulch is a wonderful place to pop by near Kaup Trail, and places like Keaku Valley are brilliant to visit. If you came to camp Hosmer Grove Campground is a great spot to do that, and Mokulau Beach is a beach close by that you can explore.
