  Hiking here in Hawaii is a wonderful way to spend some time. Hawaii is a glorious spot for backcountry hikers. Each one of the many wilderness trails of Hawaii has its own character. Now this wilderness trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Summertime brings highs in the 50's to Kau Desert Trail with nighttime lows in the 30's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Kau Desert Trail are in the 30's. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of
    backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This is a region covered with lots of backcountry trails. Quite far from Hilo you discover Kau Desert Trail, but backcountry trekking it is magnificent merriment any time. With its 11.2 miles of walking
distance; it's a long hiking trail. Good wilderness trails in Hawaii are in abundance, and Kau Desert Trail in Hawaii County is one of them. Kau Desert Trail is a very long wilderness trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough backcountry trail for advanced hikers looking for a glorious challenge. The total elevation difference for Kau Desert Trail is 2,266 feet, and that is about average. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and if you happen to be in Hawaii County of Hawaii,  
Kau Desert Trail is a fine local backpacking and hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. This hiking trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Kau Desert Trail is mostly a pretty arid location; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that rains the most while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Now, this is roughly a 1.5-day backcountry trek, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location.
