This is a two-ended great outdoors trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. Huehue Hualalai Trail has a total elevation difference of 3,579 feet which is a higher than average number. Some parts of Huehue Hualalai Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking and hiking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backpacking and hiking trail. Now this wilderness hiking trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Huehue Hualalai Trail is 9.8 miles long; it's longer than many backpacking and hiking trails. This trek shouldn't take more than 9 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster.
