Hawaii hiking trails - Hilo Trail, Hawaii County

   
  Backcountry hiking trails are great and plentiful in Hawaii, and among these are Hilo Trail in Hawaii County. Every single Hawaii hiking trail is scenic in its own way. Pretty far from Hilo you come upon Hilo Trail, but many people like to hike here to be in close proximity to the wilderness. At Hilo Trail during the summer highs are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 70's, and overnight lows in the 60's for Hilo Trail. Hilo Trail is 23 miles long; it's
    considered a longer trek. The annual rain here at Hilo Trail is about average; January is the month that gets the most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. This is one of many backcountry hiking trails in the surrounding region. There are two trailheads to chose from,
one in each end, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry trek it just one way. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 3.5 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Hey, time for a hike don’t you think? Hilo Trail in Hawaii County, Hawaii is a splendid spot for getting out. Hawaii has so much to offer the outdoors lovers. This area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with  
local forest authorities before you head out. This hiking and backpacking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,191 feet, and that is about average. This is a trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Hilo Trail is a trail of fine length having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a fine backcountry hiking trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in brilliant shape. If you happen to be in Hawaii, why not go backcountry backpacking, it never gets boring. You spend the whole trek in roughly the same elevation zone which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish.

Briefly about the general area:
This is a really good river. Waterhole Spring is a pretty site to check out while you're at Hilo Trail; Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one of the destinations that are magnificent to have a look at nearby. Since you're here at Hilo Trail why not pop by Waiaama Gulch, and a short journey to Hopukani Springs is always worthwhile.
While you're here at Hilo Trail you will meet lots of folks from nearby Hilo. Take some time to have a look at Upper Waikea Forest Reserve while you're here, and Hilo Trail is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Nmakanipaio Campground is a brilliant local campground.
