Hawaii hiking trails - Hilo Trail, Hawaii County

Hilo Trail has two trailheads, so backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. For the duration of the summer months, highs regularly are in the 80's at Hilo Trail while
    night lows are commonly in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are commonly in the 70's, and night lows in the 60's for Hilo Trail. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, if you happen to be in Hawaii County of Hawaii, Hilo Trail is a tremendous local
hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,191 feet which is about average. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Hilo Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this great outdoors hiking trail delightful for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. This walk should take you about 3.5 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. This is a long great outdoors hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies.  
Sometimes this great outdoors hiking trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Every great outdoors trail in Hawaii is worth hiking. Being 23 miles long; it's considered a longer hike. You spend the whole hike in roughly the same elevation zone, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your hike. Backpacking in Hawaii is always an enjoyable thing to do. The yearly precipitation here at Hilo Trail is about average; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest of the months is June.

Upper Waikea Forest Reserve is a wonderful local forest, and Nmakanipaio Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. The nice folks of Hilo like to hang out nearby, and a short visit to Waterhole Spring is always worthwhile.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one of the destinations close to Hilo Trail that are glorious to go to. Hopukani Springs is an inspiring site to stop by during your stay, and nearby you locate glorious locations like Waiaama Gulch.
