Hawaii hiking trails - Halawa Trail, Honolulu County

   
  Halawa Trail is situated a rather long trip from Honolulu, but backpacking along this backpacking trail is very exciting. Hawaii is a fine site for outdoors folks. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Halawa Trail in Honolulu County, Hawaii is the great outdoors at its best. Halawa Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be trekking it in and back out. Here in the nice state of Hawaii backcountry trekking is something that is always fun to do. This backcountry hiking trail goes through some very different elevations
    which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backcountry hiking trail. Halawa Trail gets lots of water; November is the wettest month with most rain while August is typically the driest month. Halawa Trail has a total elevation
difference of 1,786 feet which is about average. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. Halawa Trail is 10 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry walk. Keep in mind that this is a long backcountry trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This walk shouldn't take more than 9 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This wilderness trail is a very long wilderness trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a tremendous great outdoors hiking trail for  
experienced hikers in delightful shape. Hiking trails are nice and plentiful in Hawaii, and among these are Halawa Trail in Honolulu County. At Halawa Trail throughout the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 70's; night lows during the winter for Halawa Trail tend to be in the 60's. Every single Hawaii backcountry hiking trail is worth backcountry trekking. There are not too many great outdoors hiking trails in this vicinity.

Briefly about the general area:
Halawa Trail is not far at all from Honolulu, and a forest close by is Kneohe Forest Reserve. Put some time aside to spend at Keaahala Spring since you're here at Halawa Trail, and one of the best things about this place is its proximity to Kai Beach.
Why not camp at Camp Timberline since you're here at Halawa Trail, and Kalihi Stream is near Halawa Trail and is always a diversion to go to. A day at Keehi Lagoon Beach close to Halawa Trail is time well spent. Baskerville Spring is always fun to check out, and Pauoa Flats is a great spot to stretch your legs a bit.
No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a glorious time here at Halawa Trail. Kamanaiki Stream is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting, and Halawa Trail is near Kalihi Valley which is definitely worth a visit. Camping is available at Honolulu Koa Kampground, and since you're here you must go to Aiea Bay.
