Hawaii hiking trails - Halape Trail, Hawaii County       Halape Trail is a hiking trail rather far from Hilo, but it is a cool location to hike. Wonderful backcountry hiking trails in Hawaii are in abundance, and Halape Trail is one of them, and it's in Hawaii County. We all need to get out in the wilderness once in a while, and if you happen to be in Hawaii County of Hawaii, Halape Trail is a splendid local hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. With so many outdoors pastimes available in Hawaii you'll never get bored. Now this backpacking and hiking trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack     enough supplies. An average amount of rainfall falls at Halape Trail; the wettest month of the year is commonly March, that's the one that rains the most, and June is the month with the least moisture. Halape Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough hiking trail for advanced trekkers looking for a magnificent challenge. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Being 14.2 miles long; it's a long great outdoors trail. This is an area covered with lots of hiking trails. This wilderness trail has a total elevation difference of 2,922 feet which is a higher than average number. Some parts of Halape Trail are much higher up than other parts of the great outdoors trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations.   This backcountry hike should take you about 2 days, so it's a fine thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. Each backcountry hiking trail in Hawaii is lovely in its own way. There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry trek. High temperatures at Halape Trail through the summertime are in the 50's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; through the dark hours in the winter at Halape Trail temperatures dip to the 30's. Backcountry hiking in Hawaii never gets boring. Briefly about the general area: A good location to camp here at Halape Trail is Nmakanipaio Campground, and close by you locate Kahele which is a brilliant place to take a look at. If you're here at Halape Trail, do take a journey to Halap, and a pleasant visit to Ka Desert is a great way to spend an afternoon. At Halape Trail you always meet someone from Hilo, and a spree to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is recommended.
