Hawaii hiking trails - Byron Ledge Trail, Hawaii County

   
  You'll have to go far from Hilo to get to Byron Ledge Trail, but it sure is a a great wilderness hiking trail. Here in the brilliant state of Hawaii backcountry hiking is a tremendous idea. If you are in Hawaii during trekking season you have to go trekking. The hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. There are so many brilliant backcountry trails for backcountry hiking in Hawaii, and among these are Byron Ledge Trail in Hawaii County. Every Hawaii backcountry
    trail has something unique to offer. Byron Ledge Trail is a good location of common rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. This is just one of a large number of wilderness hiking trails in this vicinity. The
total elevation difference for Byron Ledge Trail is 444 feet which is lower than average. Through the warm days of summer at Byron Ledge Trail highs are regularly in the 60's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 60's, and nighttime lows in the 40's for Byron Ledge Trail. Byron Ledge Trail is a mid-length backcountry hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a great wilderness hiking trail for experienced walkers in glorious shape. Keep in mind that this is a long trail, so do pack  
enough food to last the whole trip. This is a two-ended wilderness hiking trail with two trailheads, so backcountry trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Byron Ledge Trail in Hawaii County, Hawaii is a great place to go. Byron Ledge Trail is 7.8 miles long it's an average length hiking trail. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 6.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Not far from Byron Ledge Trail you can enjoy the trees of Klauea Forest Reserve. Nmakanipaio Campground is a great campground nearby, and unsurprisingly, all our national parks are delightful locations to take a look at and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is no exception.
