trail for experienced hikers in splendid shape. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Hawaii is a perfect place for hikers. There is only one trailhead, so you'll
be backcountry trekking it in and back out.

Lots of folks from Kapaa come to Alakai Swamp Trail, and Kahuamaa Flat is a brilliant spot. There's whitewater on Hanalei for all you thrill seekers, and you can spend the day on the beach at
Kalalau Beach.
Some of the water nearby flows, like Kauaikinana Stream, and Mhihi Falls is an inspiring spot to pop by while you're here. Take some time to go to Npali-Kona Forest Reserve since you're here, and don't leave Alakai Swamp Trail without first paying a visit to
Moeloa Falls. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Alakai Swamp Trail. Getting to Waiakali Stream from Alakai Swamp Trail is easy, and nearby you hit upon Kipalau Valley which is a perfect location to stop at.
Time spent at Hanakpai Beach in the neighborhood of Alakai Swamp Trail is always good.
