get out in the outdoors a bit, and Ainap Trail in Hawaii County, Hawaii is a really great spot to spend some time. Ainap Trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backcountry
trail. The length of Ainap Trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes it an outstanding hiking trail for experienced walkers in pleasant shape. Ainap Trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry walk.

about the general area: Ainap Trail is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Nmakanipaio Campground is a wonderful local campground, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one of the destinations that are tremendous to stop at close by. You're sure to stumble upon some
nice people from Hilo here, and Klauea Gulch is a nice site to spend some time. A forest near Ainap Trail is Mauna Loa Forest Reserve, and Keakapulu Flat is a picturesque place any time of year. Alili Spring is a stunning site to pop by while you're at Ainap Trail.
