  Gotta get out of the city man, and Woodward Valley Trail in Marin County, California is a really great site to spend some time. It's a lengthy journey from Santa Rosa-Petaluma to Woodward Valley Trail, but when you backcountry hike it you're always having a magnificent time. Keep in mind that this is a long wilderness trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. This great outdoors hiking trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to trek it normally. The high
    level of rainfall makes Woodward Valley Trail a pretty wet site; throughout the month of January you get the most rain around here; July is when it's the driest. A visit to California is not complete without some backpacking. This great outdoors hiking trail has a total elevation
difference of 1,275 feet, and that is about average. This hike shouldn't take more than 7.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This area does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. High temperatures at Woodward Valley Trail through the months of summer are in the 80's, and the nighttime is a tad chillier of course, typically in the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's while Woodward Valley Trail nighttime low temperatures all through the winter  
are in the 30's. There are many great backpacking trails in California; among these are Woodward Valley Trail in Marin County. Every California backpacking trail has something unique to offer. Woodward Valley Trail is a mid-length hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a good wilderness trail for experienced backcountry walkers in great shape. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. There's not much difference in elevation along Woodward Valley Trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry walk. This is an area covered with lots of wilderness trails. Being 8.4 miles long it's an average length great outdoors trail.

Briefly about the general area:
Don't leave Woodward Valley Trail without first paying a visit to Alamere Falls. Do set aside some time for Muddy Hollow if you're here at Woodward Valley Trail, and a good place to camp here at Woodward Valley Trail is Coast Campground.
And that's not all you can do here at Woodward Valley Trail. Take a little journey to Santa Maria Creek while you're here at Woodward Valley Trail, and time spent at Santa Maria Beach is always glorious. Getting to Coast Creek from Woodward Valley Trail is painless, and you have to absolutely dedicate some time to Divide Meadow while you're here at Woodward Valley Trail. If time allows, Point Reyes National Seashore is a national park worth stopping at; Bear Valley is absolutely a good spot to take a look at.
Camping at Sky Campground is always a good experience, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can visit Bear Valley Dam. During your stay at Woodward Valley Trail do take a look at close by Sculptured Beach; a tour to Point Resistance is always a splendid idea.
