taking about 9 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Now this backpacking and hiking trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Backcountry backpacking here in the Klamath Mountains is a really splendid
way to spend quality time in the wilderness. The great outdoors hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your trek. All through the summertime months highs here at Willow Trail get into
the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Willow Trail. Being 10 miles long; it's a long great outdoors hiking trail. Willow Trail is to be found
a relatively long journey from Ukiah, but it is one of many wonderful backcountry hiking trails in this area. This is a one trailhead hiking trail, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out.
Briefly about the general area: Whitewater paddling is not for
everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Mad River; sites like Pfeiffer Flat are glorious to stop by. Put some time aside to spend at Waterspout if you're here at Willow Trail, and if you came to camp Pine Root Spring Campground is a pleasant location to do that. So
many exciting things in the Klamath Mountains, just striking. Willow Trail is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Hammerhorn Campground is a wonderful local campground, and Ant Point is not far at all. Wrights Valley is a good place to explore, and Clarks Basin is a
wonderful site. What a location this is for outdoors people. Get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Eel River - North Fork, and hey, Willow Creek is a brilliant local stream. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Klamath Mountains. It's always pleasant to visit Water Spout Spring, and swing by Yellowjacket Creek it's a pleasant site to explore.
