  California has so much to offer the wilderness lovers. When was the last time you got out in nature a bit? White Mountain Trail in Ventura County, California is just the place. It's a lengthy drive from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura to White Mountain Trail, but when you walk it you're always having an outstanding time. Here in the perfect state of California backcountry hiking never gets boring. Summer brings highs in the 90's to White Mountain Trail with nighttime lows in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 60's with temperatures at White
    Mountain Trail dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. This is one of many hiking and backpacking trails in the surrounding vicinity. The total elevation difference for this trail is 3,500 feet, and that is higher than average. California has plenty of perfect backpacking
trails, and one of these is White Mountain Trail in Ventura County. This backcountry trail is a backcountry trail of magnificent length with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a glorious hiking and backpacking trail for experienced trekkers in splendid shape. This wilderness trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Now this wilderness trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This great outdoors trail goes through some  
very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. This trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out hike. Backcountry trekking here in the Sierra Madre is a really magnificent way to spend quality time in the wilderness. Now, this is roughly a 3-day backcountry hike, so it's a perfect thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. Every single California backpacking trail has something unique to offer. Being 19.4 miles long; it's longer than many great outdoors trails. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. It is very arid here at White Mountain Trail ordinarily; all through the month of February you get the most rain around here while July is ordinarily the driest month.

Briefly about the general area:
Near White Mountain Trail you stumble on Big Narrows which is a great spot to have a look at, and taking a little tour to close by Nugget Point is a nice idea. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining things to do in the Sierra Madre. A visit to Dough Flat invigorates the spirit, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Cobblestone Spring.
This is such a wonderful river. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Piru Creek, and a visit to White Mountain Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Buck Creek Spring. White Mountain Trail is a good site to camp, Tin Can Cabin Campground is a good site, and Squaw Flat is a fine place. Coming to this river is always a good idea.
So many exciting things right next door to White Mountain Trail, clearly impressive. You'll need more than a day to look at everything White Mountain Trail has to offer, you can camp at Hardluck Campground; let's not forget Dead Horse Creek which is a stream that you may bump into during your stay. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sierra Madre. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piru Creek, and there's some flowing water nearby, Rose Creek is a stream you can pop by while you're here.
