when you're backpacking along it. The backpacking and hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. These backpacking trails here in the Coast Ranges are a perfect way to explore these
summits. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 7 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. This backpacking and hiking trail has two trailheads, so trekking
it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back.
Briefly about the general area: Having a great time at West Ridge Trail is painless. This is a popular place for people from Crescent City North. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Coast Ranges.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Klamath River. You'll need more than a day to look at everything West Ridge Trail has to offer, you can camp at Klamath Glen Resort. Take a little journey to Godwood Creek since you're here at West
Ridge Trail, and Gold Bluffs Beach is a beautiful beach to visit. Brown Creek is in close proximity to West Ridge Trail and is always a bliss to stop by, and you can stay the night at Klamath River RV Park. If you come at the right time of year, Redwood Creek offers some fine whitewater, and West Ridge Trail is right next door to Fern Canyon which is without doubt worth visiting.
