California hiking trails - West Point Trail, Marin County

California is an excellent spot for outdoors people. There are many brilliant trails in California, and one of these is West Point Trail in Marin County. Backcountry trekking here in California is always an enjoyable thing to do. West Point Trail sees pretty high levels of precipitation; January is the wettest month with most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. You should count on this backcountry walk taking about 2 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Summertime highs at West Point Trail commonly
tend to be in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and nighttime lows at West Point Trail during the winter usually descend into the 30's. Sometimes this hiking and backpacking trail gets really dry, so don’t
forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Each trail in California is gorgeous in its own way. With its 2 miles of walking distance it's shorter than many backpacking trails. We all need to get out in the fresh air once in a while, and if you happen to be in Marin County of California, West Point Trail is a glorious local great outdoors trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,740 feet which is about average. This is a neighborhood covered with lots of trails. This wilderness
trail is on the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it an excellent trail for the average person looking for an excellent adventure. Some parts of this backpacking trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backpacking trail. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. West Point Trail is not very near San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont at all, but it is one of many fine great outdoors trails in this vicinity. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. This is not a very long hiking and backpacking trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.

Briefly about the general area:
On a pleasant day it's a good idea to spend the day at Red Rock Beach. Don't forget to take a glorious little tour to Bootjack Creek, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can go to Cascade Dam.
Cathedral Grove is a delightful forest region near West Point Trail, and if you want to hit the beach, Muir Beach is in the neighborhood. Having a brilliant time at West Point Trail is painless. Camping at West Point Trail is splendid fun, Haypress Campground is a splendid local campground, and it's a great idea to stop by East Fork Fern Creek. If you haven’t been to Muir Woods National Monument, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here; you're sure to come across some smiling people from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont here.
Why not camp at Laurel Dell Campground while you're here at West Point Trail, and Van Wyck Meadow is a brilliant location here at West Point Trail.
