Briefly about the general area: Camping is available at Independence Lake Campground, and there are some great whitewater spots on Fordyce Creek. Round Valley is a great spot to stretch your legs a bit, and if you're looking for some flowing water?
Try Upper Castle Creek. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Warren Lake Trail is excellent! If you come at the right time of year, Yuba River - South Fork offers some magnificent whitewater. Burnt Flat is a beautiful site any time of year; a magnificent location
to camp here at Warren Lake Trail is Van Norden Campground. So many entertaining things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not sufficient time. Getting to Upper Independence Creek from Warren Lake Trail is uncomplicated, and a magnificent place is Coon Canyon.
