At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The total elevation difference for this trail is 2,346 feet, and that is about average.

Briefly about the general area:
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Piru Creek; Warm Springs Necktie Trail is a great location to camp, Cienaga Campground is a great location. Camping at Warm Springs Necktie Trail is fine fun, Elizabeth Lake Canyon Campground is a fine local campground; there's whitewater on Piru Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Sierra Madre. Necktie Basin is right here at Warm Springs Necktie Trail; Elizabeth Lake Canyon is close by, and is a tremendous place.
