California hiking trails - Virginia Trail, Southern Sierra Nevada, Kern County

   
  If you happen to be in California, why not go backcountry trekking, it is the perfect thing to do. Backcountry trekking in California is such a magnificent thing to do. Every backpacking trail in California is well worth a walk. Virginia Trail is not very close to Bakersfield at all, but when you backcountry hike it you're always having a glorious time. Virginia Trail gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; January is the wettest month with most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Sometimes this great outdoors hiking trail gets really
    dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. There are not too many hiking trails in this region. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Backpacking and hiking trails are perfect and plentiful in California; one of them being Virginia
Trail in Kern County. With its 8.2 miles of walking distance it's a mid length walk. The time needed for this hike is roughly 7.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Hey, time for a backcountry hike don’t you think? Virginia Trail in Kern County, California is such a glorious place. The total elevation difference for Virginia Trail is 2,879 feet, and that is higher than average. Virginia Trail is a normal length backcountry trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough hiking trail for advanced  
backcountry walkers looking for a perfect challenge. Backcountry trekking here in the Southern Sierra Nevada is a really brilliant way to spend quality time in the great outdoors. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Virginia Trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking and backpacking trail. Summer at Virginia Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are typically in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Virginia Trail. Keep in mind that this is a long great outdoors hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Cedar Creek Campground is a great campground nearby. And if you're still looking for more outdoors exciting stuff just keep reading. Some close by water includes Alder Creek; you can stay the night at Alder Creek Campground.
Slick Rock Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and Water Gap Spring is always fun to check out. Don’t forget to take a look at Marshall Meadow while you're here at Virginia Trail, and a short tour to Sandy Creek Spring is always worthwhile. Paddling on Kern River is so much fun; nearby you locate great places like Portuguese Pass.
That right there is a heap of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Southern Sierra Nevada has it all. Do set aside some time for Bear Dens if you're here at Virginia Trail, and Virginia Trail is not far at all from Bakersfield.
