There's not much difference in elevation along the backpacking trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. month of the year is generally February, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is July. Being 3 miles long it's shorter than many backpacking trails. This wilderness hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if
you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 2.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Here in the glorious state of California backpacking never gets boring. This is just one of a large

Briefly about the general area:
Santa Barbara County Park Dept is a great campground here, and nearby you hit upon Angostura Pass which is a delightful place to stop at. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more amusing things
to do in the Santa Ynez Mountains. Stay the night at Carpinteria State Beach, and nothing beats kicking back at East Beach.
Here at Tunnel Trail you'll perhaps meet some folks from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta. This river is a wonderful place to visit. You must unquestionably
dedicate some time to Flores Flat while you're here at Tunnel Trail, and you can hit the beach if you want, West Beach is practically right here.
