California hiking trails - Tunnel Trail, Santa Ynez Mountains, Santa Barbara County

   
  Can’t wait to get out in nature, if you happen to be in Santa Barbara County of California, Tunnel Trail is a good local backpacking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Here in the pleasant state of California backpacking is the pleasant thing to do. There are numerous backcountry hiking trails in California, and each one is gorgeous in its own way. Tunnel Trail is a long tour away from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta, but you always have a good time when you're backpacking along it. This is not a very long great outdoors hiking trail but it's always glorious
    to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Hiking here in the Santa Ynez Mountains is the best way to enjoy these mountaintops. This is just one of a large number of wilderness trails in this neighborhood. Tunnel Trail is a one trailhead backpacking trail,
so in and out is the way to backcountry hike it normally. The backcountry hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backcountry hiking trail. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The total elevation difference for this backpacking trail is 1,150 feet which is about average.  
For the period of the days of summer highs here at Tunnel Trail get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 60's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Tunnel Trail sink into the 30's. There are so many pleasant backcountry hiking trails for backpacking in California; Tunnel Trail in Santa Barbara County is one of them. Not much rain falls here at Tunnel Trail; the month of February is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Being 3 miles long it's a short backcountry hiking trail. No chance of getting bored in California if you like the great outdoors. Tunnel Trail is on the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this wilderness trail brilliant for the average hiker looking for a cool adventure. This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 2.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.

Stay the night at Ocean Mesa Campground, and you're sure to encounter some good people from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta here. A pleasant journey to Flores Flat is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, and if you want to hit the beach, East Beach is nearby.
Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Santa Ynez Mountains is so good! You should definitely explore scenic West Beach if you're here at Tunnel Trail, and Tunnel Trail is a glorious site to visit for more than one day, Santa Barbara County Park Dept is a glorious site to camp nearby. If you yearn for a little side visit, try Angostura Pass.
