lower than average. You should count on this walk taking about 5.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Backcountry trails like this one here in the Sierra Madre are a glorious way to explore these peaks. Tinta Trail is
a location that is reasonably dried out generally; February is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Each backpacking trail in California is well worth a backcountry trek. A visit to California is not complete without some backcountry
hiking. Keep in mind that this is a long backcountry hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping.

Oak Creek which is a stream that you may come across during your stay. You definitely should love the Sierra Madre. There's so much to do here at Tinta Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Tinta Campground is a glorious site for that, and Tinta Trail is good enough to spend more than a day at, Upper Tinta Campground is a good local campground.
