California hiking trails - Third Divide Trail, Northern Sierra Nevada, Sierra County

   
  Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Third Divide Trail in Sierra County, California is a really great place to spend some time. Each backpacking and hiking trail in California is worth backcountry backpacking. Trekking in California is such a wonderful thing to do. Even though this is not a very long great outdoors hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. With its 5 miles of walking distance it's an average length backcountry hiking trail. There are many tremendous
    backpacking and hiking trails in California, and one of those is Third Divide Trail in Sierra County. The annual rain here at Third Divide Trail is about average; the wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that rains the most, and July is the month with the
least moisture. Through the summertime months highs here at Third Divide Trail get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Third Divide Trail. You'll need to go far from Truckee-Grass Valley to get to Third Divide Trail, but it sure is a a wonderful backcountry hiking trail. Here in California backcountry backpacking is always an amusing thing to do. The total elevation difference for Third Divide Trail is 2,062 feet  
which is about average. At parts of the year this neighborhood sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This is one of many backpacking and hiking trails in the surrounding region. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Third Divide Trail is a normal length wilderness trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this backpacking and hiking trail magnificent for the average trekker looking for an amusing adventure. Backcountry hiking trails like this one here in the Northern Sierra Nevada are the best way to enjoy these mountains. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. This walk shouldn't take more than 4.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This backcountry hiking trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backcountry hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it.

Briefly about the general area:
Empire Creek is a charming stream that is worth visiting, and get covered with water paddling on Lavezzola Creek. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Pauley Creek; there are plenty of people from Truckee-Grass Valley here.
Be careful coming to Third Divide Trail, you might not ever want to go home again. If you came for an overnight stay Cannon Point Campground is a delightful place to camp; nearby Third Divide is a great location to go. Don't forget to take a pleasant little visit to Butcher Ranch Creek, and camping is available at Union Flat Campground.
