for Summit Trail is 506 feet which is lower than average. For the period of the summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Summit Trail, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the winter highs are regularly in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight
here at Summit Trail. With its 3 miles of walking distance it's a short hiking trail. This is not a very long backpacking and hiking trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so don’t
forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. From a rainfall point of view Summit Trail is a quite common place; January is when you get the most rain here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Briefly about the general area:
Camping is available at Wastahi Campground; Iverson Creek is right next door to Summit Trail and is always a bliss to visit. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Santa Cruz Mountains is unbeatable! If you came for an overnight stay Huckleberry Campground is
a delightful place to camp, and whitewater paddling is perfect on Pescadero Creek. Evans Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and lots of folks from Santa Cruz-Watsonville come here.
