| | 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Steamboat Trail during the wintertime commonly fall into the 20's. Backpacking here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is the best way to enjoy these hills. Now, this is roughly a 1.5-day backcountry hike, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. different elevations. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and if you happen to be in Placer County of California, Steamboat Trail is a fine local backcountry hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions
in spot. Steamboat Trail commonly gets lots of rainfall; most of the rain falls all through January while July is regularly the driest month. This is a backpacking and hiking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Every California backcountry trail
has its own unique loveliness. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Steamboat Trail is a one trailhead hiking and backpacking trail, so in and out is the way to hike it normally.

Meadow is a gorgeous spot any time of year; Hunters Spring is a tremendous local attraction. Glide down the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork in a kayak, and camping at Talbot Campground is always a great experience. A pleasant trip to Upper Hell Hole is a perfect way to spend
an afternoon; Big Rock Spring is a gorgeous place to visit while you're at Steamboat Trail. Buckskin Creek is a stream that you may run into while you're here; get yourself into a kayak and hit Silver Creek - South Fork. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in
the Northern Sierra Nevada. Five Lakes Creek flows through this vicinity, and close by you stumble on Steamboat Canyon which is a brilliant site to pop by.
