Spaulding Lake Trail is a one trailhead wilderness trail, so you'll be backcountry hiking it in and back out. Spaulding Lake Trail has a total elevation difference of 601 feet which is lower than average. Being 3.6 miles long it's shorter than many backpacking trails. This is not a very long great outdoors hiking trail but it's always wonderful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. You spend the whole trek in roughly the same elevation zone which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. The time needed for this backcountry hike is roughly 3 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This great outdoors hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go.
