California hiking trails - South Fork Trail, Santa Rosa Mountains, Riverside County

   
  There are hiking and backpacking trails all over California, and one of those is South Fork Trail in Riverside County. A visit to California is not complete without some backpacking. There are plenty of hiking and backpacking trails in California; each one of them has something unique to offer. South Fork Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,249 feet which is about average. South Fork Trail is 7.2 miles long it's a mid length hike. South Fork Trail is a mid-length great outdoors trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a
    nice wilderness trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in good shape. Hey, time for a trek don’t you think? if you happen to be in Riverside County of California, South Fork Trail is a fine local hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Through the long summer days highs
here at South Fork Trail reach the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 60's; night lows at South Fork Trail during the winter frequently drop into the 30's. This is just one of a large number of wilderness trails in this region. Going for a backcountry hike here in California never gets boring. This area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. There are two trailheads to chose from, one  
in each end which means you have the option of backcountry hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The backpacking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your hike. South Fork Trail is not very in the neighborhood of Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario at all, but many people like to trek here to be in the neighborhood of the fresh air. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Now this wilderness hiking trail is pretty long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. South Fork Trail is frequently a reasonably dried up location; the month with most of the rain is March while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 6.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. The picturesque great outdoors trails of the Santa Rosa Mountains are a very great way to see these summits.

Briefly about the general area:
Blodgett Flat is a beautiful location any time of year, and don't leave South Fork Trail without first paying a visit to Rattlesnake Spring. Alvin Meadows is a good site to check out, and a wonderful place to go to nearby is Willow Valley.
If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Santa Rosa Mountains. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is abundant here in the Santa Rosa Mountains. South Fork Trail is a good site to visit for more than one day, Stone Creek Campground is a good site to camp nearby, and a journey to Milky Spring will fill your spirit with great feelings. There's some flowing water close by, Strawberry Creek is a stream you can go to while you're here; Camp Maranatha is a great campground nearby.
What a place this is for outdoors people. Coldwater Creek is a stream that you may run into while you're here, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario.
