  Backcountry backpacking in California is an excellent idea. Soldier Trail being so isolated from the nearest town, It's always amusing to backcountry hike here. Each one of the many hiking trails of California is worth backcountry trekking. The time needed for this trek is roughly 8.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This is one of many wilderness hiking trails in the surrounding area. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go.     Trail in Trinity County, California is just the spot. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This backpacking trail is a very long backpacking trail
having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough wilderness hiking trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for a splendid challenge. There are hiking trails all over California, and Soldier Trail is one of them, and it's in Trinity County. The yearly rain here at Soldier Trail is about average; most of the rain falls through January; July is the month with the least moisture. Now this backcountry hiking trail is pretty long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Different parts of this trail are at very different elevations  
which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the trail. For the period of the warmest time of the year here at Soldier Trail, high temperatures regularly reach the 90's, and the night is a tad chillier of course, generally in the 50's. For the duration of the winter this spot gets highs in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Soldier Trail temperatures dip to the 30's. In California you never run out of outdoors fun. With its 10 miles of walking distance; it's a long trail. There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk. The backpacking trails of the Klamath Mountains are the best way to enjoy these peaks. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 1,853 feet which is an average number.

Briefly about the general area:
Soldier Trail is a great place to camp, Hammerhorn Campground is a great place, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Green Springs. That right there is loads of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Klamath Mountains has it all.
Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are really plentiful here at Soldier Trail. Hole-in-the-Ground is a brilliant place to check out, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Beegum Creek. Be careful coming to the Klamath Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. Minnie Creek flows through this vicinity; Sunflower Glade is a nice spot. At this river you will never have a bad time. If you're here, you might as well stop at French Cove; if you come at the right time of year, Black Butte River offers some perfect whitewater.
Willow Basin Creek is a stream that you may stumble upon while you're here; you can stay the night at Little Doe Campground.
