50's. For the duration of the winter this spot gets highs in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Soldier Trail temperatures dip to the 30's. In California you never run out of outdoors fun. With its 10 miles of walking distance; it's a long trail. There is
only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk. The backpacking trails of the Klamath Mountains are the best way to enjoy these peaks. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 1,853 feet which is an average number.
Briefly about the general
area: Soldier Trail is a great place to camp, Hammerhorn Campground is a great place, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Green Springs. That right there is loads of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Klamath Mountains has it all. Yep, outdoors entertaining
stuff to do are really plentiful here at Soldier Trail. Hole-in-the-Ground is a brilliant place to check out, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Beegum Creek. Be careful coming to the Klamath Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. Minnie Creek flows
through this vicinity; Sunflower Glade is a nice spot. At this river you will never have a bad time. If you're here, you might as well stop at French Cove; if you come at the right time of year, Black Butte River offers some perfect whitewater. Willow Basin Creek is a stream that you may stumble upon while you're here; you can stay the night at Little Doe Campground.
