Different parts of Snowy Creek Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking trail. Snowy Creek Trail is a two ended great outdoors trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. Backcountry trails like this one here in the Sierra Madre | |
|
are a perfect way to explore these mountains. Now this hiking trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Being 14.2 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry trek. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and Snowy Creek Trail in Ventura County, California
is the great outdoors at its best. At Snowy Creek Trail during the summer months highs are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are commonly in the 60's while the cold winter nights at Snowy Creek Trail are in the 30's. This trek
should take you about 2 days, so it's a fine thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. The length of this wilderness trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough great outdoors hiking trail for advanced backcountry
trekkers looking for a glorious challenge.
Briefly about the general area: Having a magnificent time at Snowy Creek Trail is painless. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Snowy Creek Trail has to offer, you can camp at Hardluck Campground, and there are
some delightful whitewater spots on Piru Creek. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Sierra Madre. There's so much to do here at Snowy Creek Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Gold Hill Campground is a magnificent site for that, and Rose Creek is right next
door to Snowy Creek Trail and is always a joy to go to. Pinon Flat is a fine place, and Borracho Spring is always fun to check out. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sierra Madre. Everybody loves Arrastra Flat, and you might also want to pay a visit to Trail Canyon since
you're here at Snowy Creek Trail. Nugget Point is in the neighborhood and always good to take a look at, and some close by water includes Dead Horse Creek. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Piru Creek, and Buck Creek Spring is a good local attraction.
