    different parts of the hiking trail. This backcountry trek should take you about 3 days, so it's a splendid thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. There are hiking and backpacking trails all over California, and one of these is Santa Cruz Trail in Santa Barbara County.
This is a two-ended hiking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. Santa Cruz Trail is a long drive away from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta, but it is a magnificent getaway from the city. Backpacking here in the Sierra Madre is a wonderful way to explore these mountains. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. Santa Cruz Trail is generally a pretty dried out place; throughout the month of February you get the most rain around here while July is generally the  
driest month. The length of this trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a wonderful wilderness hiking trail for experienced hikers in good shape. Santa Cruz Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,660 feet which is higher than average. With so many outdoors endeavors available in California you'll never get bored. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Santa Cruz Trail is 19.8 miles long; it's longer than many hiking trails. Now this backpacking and hiking trail is pretty long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. During the months of summer at Santa Cruz Trail temperatures are usually in the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are typically in the 60's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Santa Cruz Trail.

This is such a fun river. Put some time aside to spend at Mud Spring since you're here at Santa Cruz Trail. Man, is there loads of enjoyable things to do in the Sierra Madre. People from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta love to come to Santa Cruz Trail, and some close by water includes East Fork Santa Cruz Creek.
A river like this is too good to miss. near Santa Cruz Trail you'll stumble on a wooded region called Los Padres National Forest, and camping at Santa Cruz Trail is great fun, Coche Campground is a great local campground. Santa Ynez Point is close by and always fine to stop at, and a journey to Little Pine Spring will fill your spirit with great feelings. You simply should love the Sierra Madre. Whitewater paddling is good on Cuyama River, and why not camp at Ninteen Oaks Campground if you're here at Santa Cruz Trail.
While staying at Santa Cruz Trail you could always explore Black Canyon; Nineteen Oaks is a splendid place. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Santa Cruz Trail. A journey to Hidden Potrero revitalizes the soul, and getting to West Fork Santa Cruz Creek from Santa Cruz Trail is uncomplicated.
