Briefly about the general area: Do
set aside some time for Oak Flats if you're here at San Juan Trail, and while you're here, you might as well visit Hot Spring Canyon. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Santa Ana Mountains. Don’t forget to take a look at Verdugo Potrero since you're here at San Juan
Trail, and you can stay the night at Falcon Campground. Chiquito Spring is always fun to check out; if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Santa Margarita River. Be careful coming to San Juan Trail, you might not ever wanna return home
again. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. A short tour to Crow Spring is always worthwhile, and Lower San Juan Campground is a nice campground here.
