California hiking trails - San Clemente Trail, Santa Lucia Range, Monterey County

   
  There are so many pleasant hiking trails for backcountry hiking in California, and San Clemente Trail in Monterey County is one of them. Each hiking trail in California is worth backcountry hiking. San Clemente Trail is located a rather lengthy trip from Salinas, but hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 6.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. These trails here in the Santa Lucia Range are a very perfect way to see these mountains. This is just one of a large
    number of backpacking trails in this region. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. California has lots of outdoors things to do. Hey, time for a backcountry trek don’t you think? San Clemente Trail in Monterey County, California is just the
location. This great outdoors hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. Here in California backcountry hiking is something that is always fun to do. Throughout the summer highs here at San Clemente Trail reach the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's with temperatures at San Clemente Trail dipping down into the 40's throughout winter nights. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you  
go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. San Clemente Trail is a location that is pretty arid ordinarily; the month with most of the rain is January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Keep in mind that this is a long great outdoors hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. You spend the whole trek in roughly the same elevation zone, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole hiking trail. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors hiking trail is 714 feet which is lower than average. San Clemente Trail is 7 miles long it's a mid length trek. The length of this trail is about average having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backpacking trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for a great challenge.

Briefly about the general area:
Be careful coming to San Clemente Trail, you might not ever want to return back home again. South Fork Black Rock Creek is a stream that you may run into during your stay. San Clemente Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Tin House Campground is a great local campground, and there's some flowing water close by, Black Rock Creek is a stream you can have a look at while here.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Carmel River, and Sleepy Hollow is a good spot to check out. If you come at the right time of year, Little Sur River offers some nice whitewater. There's so much to do here at San Clemente Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Rattlesnake Campground is a good spot for that. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Santa Lucia Range. Some magnificent nature is available in Big Pines, and you'll most likely meet some people from Salinas here.
