number. Every California hiking trail is different from the others. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Reed Reef Trail. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 60's with temperatures at Reed Reef Trail
dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. This great outdoors trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be hiking it in and back out. Here in California backpacking is always an amusing thing to do. The beautiful wilderness hiking trails of the Sierra Madre are a very wonderful
way to see these summits.
Briefly about the general area:
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area right next door to Reed Reef Trail has to offer. Some of the water close by flows, like Sycamore Creek, and there are some delightful
whitewater spots on Sespe Creek. Stay the night at Thatcher Campground, and since you're here at Reed Reef Trail it's a great idea to check out Ten Sycamore Flat.
There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Sierra Madre. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Willett
Hot Springs, and lots of folks from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura come here. So much exciting stuff to do in the Sierra Madre, not enough time. Reed Reef Trail is a delightful place to camp, Oak Flat Campground is a delightful place; nearby Red Reef Canyon is a wonderful place to
go.
There's a forest here at Reed Reef Trail called Kenney Groye, and don't leave Reed Reef Trail without first paying a visit to Willett Hot Springs. Looking for some flowing water? Try Timber Creek, and do set aside some time for Oak Flat if you're here at Reed Reef Trail.
