California hiking trails - Pratt Trail, Sierra Madre, Ventura County

   
  Every great outdoors hiking trail in California is delightful in its own way. Pratt Trail is a long tour away from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura, but many people like to walk here to be in close proximity to the great outdoors. Going for a backcountry trek here in California is a good idea. Summertime highs at Pratt Trail mostly tend to be in the 90's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 60's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Pratt Trail sink into the 30's. Pratt Trail is many miles
    long having an average number of uphill miles which makes this trail nice for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and Pratt Trail in Ventura County, California is a perfect pick. There are so many trails in this region. This
backpacking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. With its 10.6 miles of walking distance; it's longer than many wilderness trails. California has plenty of brilliant great outdoors hiking trails, and one of these is Pratt Trail in Ventura County. California is a good outdoors state. The amount of precipitation that falls at Pratt Trail is near the national average; February is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July. This  
backcountry trail has a total elevation difference of 2,337 feet which is an average number. Hiking here in the Sierra Madre is a very fine way to see these mountains. This hike should take you about 1.5 days, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Some parts of Pratt Trail are much higher up than other parts of the wilderness trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. This backcountry trail has two trailheads, so backcountry trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Keep in mind that this is a long backpacking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies.

Briefly about the general area:
Just can't get enough of the Sierra Madre. It's always magnificent to take a look at Sulphur Spring, and don't miss out on a spree to Channel Islands National Park while you're here. Bear Creek is a brilliant place to have a look at, and Stewart Canyon Debris Dam is a stunning site, absolutely worth visiting.
And if that's not enough there's a load more fun things to do in the Sierra Madre. A magnificent site to have a look at near Pratt Trail is Stewart Canyon, and during your tour here you'll meet some people from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura for sure. Stay the night at Ortegea Campground; Sespe Creek is a nice whitewater spot close by. A pleasant journey to Berry Flat is a good way to spend an afternoon, and Pratt Trail is a splendid location to visit for more than one day, Camp Comfort Park is a splendid location to camp nearby.
Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Pratt Trail is great! Bear Creek is a magnificent local stream, and Deserpa Flat is a gorgeous place any time of year. Don't leave Pratt Trail without first paying a visit to Bellyache Springs.
