California hiking trails - Pohono Trail, Central Sierra Nevada, Mariposa County

for Pohono Trail is 3,527 feet, and that is higher than average. This is just one of a large number of hiking and backpacking trails in this area. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. Hiking here in the Central Sierra Nevada is a great way to explore these hills. Relatively far from Madera you locate Pohono Trail, but it is a magnificent great outdoors hiking trail. Pohono Trail frequently gets a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that rains the most, and July is  
when it's the driest. Keep in mind that this is a long wilderness hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. For the period of the warm months highs here at Pohono Trail reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Pohono Trail are in the 20's. The length of this hiking trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough hiking and backpacking trail for advanced trekkers looking for a splendid challenge. There are many glorious wilderness trails in California, and one of these is Pohono Trail in Mariposa County. Being 22.8 miles long; it's considered a longer trek. This is a two-ended wilderness hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end.

Briefly about the general area:
Bridalveil Campground is a good local campground; Yosemite National Park is a splendid location nearby. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Merced River, and Fern Spring is a wonderful site to stop by while you're at Pohono Trail.
A wooded area close to Pohono Trail is Tuolumne Grove, and Cascade Dam is gorgeous. Silver Strand Falls is a brilliant local attraction, and if you come at the right time of year, Yosemite Creek offers some perfect whitewater.
Man, is there plenty of cool things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. A visit to Summit Meadow rejuvenates the spirit; obviously Meadow Brook is a charming stream that is worth a visit. Man, is there loads of amusing stuff to do near Pohono Trail. Bridalveil Meadow is a perfect location to check out, and don't forget to take a good little trip to Artist Creek. You definitely ought to have a thing about the Central Sierra Nevada. Pohono Trail is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Indian Flat RV Park is a perfect place to camp nearby, and Yosemite Valley is a glorious site to have a look at.
