California hiking trails - Pigeon Roost Trail, Northern Sierra Nevada, Placer County

   
  California has plenty of nice hiking trails, and among these are Pigeon Roost Trail in Placer County. Here in California backcountry hiking is so much fun.     tour from Truckee-Grass Valley to Pigeon Roost Trail, but what a good place for backcountry hiking it is. This hike shouldn't take more than 2.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Hitting the wilderness hiking trails is always an enjoyable
thing to do, and Pigeon Roost Trail in Placer County, California is a good place for getting out. The total elevation difference for Pigeon Roost Trail is 763 feet which is lower than average. Pigeon Roost Trail sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is July. This wilderness hiking trail has two trailheads, so backcountry trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Pigeon Roost Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. This is an area covered with lots of backpacking trails.

If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A nice location to camp here at Pigeon Roost Trail is Big Tree Grove Campground, and Pigeon Roost Trail is in the neighborhood of Little Grizzly Canyon which is absolutely worth going to.
Lots of people from Truckee-Grass Valley come to Pigeon Roost Trail, and get drenched paddling on Rubicon River. Pigeon Roost Trail is good enough to spend more than a day at, Vista Overflow Campground is a good local campground; don't leave Pigeon Roost Trail without first paying a visit to Wallace Spring.
