California hiking trails - Painted Rock Trail, Northern Sierra Nevada, Placer County

   
  Each one of the many trails of California has its own unique prettiness. Here in the great state of California backpacking is always an enjoyable thing to do. Great outdoors hiking trails for backpacking, and backpacking can be found all over California; Painted Rock Trail in Placer County is one of them. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. You should
    count on this backcountry hike taking about 6.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. You'll need to go far from Truckee-Grass Valley to get to Painted Rock Trail, but trekking it is always exciting. Painted Rock Trail goes through some very different
elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Painted Rock Trail is 7.4 miles long it's an average length hiking trail. This is an area covered with lots of wilderness hiking trails. High temperatures at Painted Rock Trail through the summer months are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Through the winter this site gets highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Painted Rock Trail. This hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry  
hike. The length of Painted Rock Trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this wilderness hiking trail good for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 1,553 feet which is an average number. With so many outdoors pursuits available in California you'll never get bored. When was the last time you got out in nature a bit? Painted Rock Trail in Placer County, California is an excellent spot for getting out. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Painted Rock Trail typically gets a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. The gorgeous backpacking trails of the Northern Sierra Nevada are a very great way to see these mountaintops.

Briefly about the general area:
Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you came for an overnight stay Talbot Campground is a good spot to camp, and Yuba River - South Fork is a good whitewater spot nearby. Emigrant Canyon is in the neighborhood of Painted Rock Trail and is a good location; why not camp at Onion Creek Campground if you're here at Painted Rock Trail.
Don't forget to take a glorious little tour to South Fork Cold Creek. Chief Creek is a stunning stream that is worth a visit, and Soda Springs is an inspiring site to explore while you're here.
