California hiking trails - Old Pine Trail, Marin County

   
  We all need to get out in the wilderness once in a while, and if you happen to be in Marin County of California, Old Pine Trail is a splendid local backcountry trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. In California you never run out of outdoors fun. Every California hiking trail is well worth a backcountry trek. Old Pine Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Old Pine Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,145 feet which is about average. Even though this
    is not a very long hiking trail it's always delightful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Old Pine Trail is a normal length hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this hiking trail glorious for the average trekker looking
for an enjoyable adventure. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. If you happen to be in California, why not go hiking, it is a splendid way to spend some time. Backcountry hiking trails are magnificent and plentiful in California; Old Pine Trail in Marin County is one of them. Old Pine Trail is not very in the vicinity of Santa Rosa-Petaluma at all, but backcountry trails like these  
are brilliant. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Old Pine Trail with nighttime lows in the 40's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Old Pine Trail all through the winter frequently fall into the 30's. Old Pine Trail sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. This is an area covered with lots of hiking trails. Old Pine Trail is 5.2 miles long it's an average length backpacking trail. You should count on this backcountry trek taking about 4.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This hiking trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to trek it normally.

The scenery at Bear Valley Dam in the vicinity of Old Pine Trail is beautiful; Point Reyes National Seashore is a great place nearby.

Stay the night at Olema Ranch Campgrounds, and Divide Meadow is a perfect place here at Old Pine Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Old Pine Trail has to offer, you can camp at Sky Campground, and nothing beats kicking back at Sculptured Beach.
Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Kelham Beach, and do stop by Coast Creek if you're here at Old Pine Trail.
