California hiking trails - North Side Trail, Marin County

   
  Going for a backcountry walk here in California is so much fun. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, North Side Trail in Marin County, California is a wonderful place to go. Every California wilderness trail is wonderful in its own way. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. California is a glorious site for outdoors people. You should count
    on this backcountry walk taking about 4.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Even though this is not a very long backpacking and hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.
All the water falling down from the sky makes North Side Trail a wet spot; January is the month that gets the most rain while July is commonly the driest month. There is only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to trek it normally. Being 4.8 miles long it's an average length trail. North Side Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole trail. This is a vicinity covered with lots of backcountry hiking trails. North Side Trail is a long tour away from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont,  
but it is a wonderful getaway from the urban center. North Side Trail has a total elevation difference of 371 feet which is lower than average. Great outdoors trails for backcountry hiking, and backpacking can be found all over California, and North Side Trail is one of them, and it's in Marin County. This hiking and backpacking trail is a normal length hiking and backpacking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a good backcountry hiking trail for the average person looking for a good adventure. For the duration of the summer at North Side Trail highs are mostly in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's with temperatures at North Side Trail dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights.

Briefly about the general area:
A quick journey to East Fork Lagunitas Creek next to North Side Trail is a great idea, and you are in the neighborhood of Pine Point if you're here. North Side Trail truly is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise.
Cathedral Grove is worth taking a look at; a perfect place to pop by is Fish Gulch. If you're looking for a beach near North Side Trail, we recommend Red Rock Beach; Cascade Dam is not far at all from North Side Trail. What a site this is for outdoors folks. Muir Woods National Monument is a pleasant local destination here at North Side Trail; Muir Beach is a beach nearby that you can stop by.
East Fork Fern Creek flows through this region, and Dawn Falls is a brilliant local attraction. North Side Trail is not far at all from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, and Azalea Flat is right here at North Side Trail. A good location like Double Bowknot here at North Side Trail is too tremendous to miss, and camping is available at Laurel Dell Campground.
Put some time aside to spend at Colier Spring since you're here at North Side Trail, and why not camp at Haypress Campground since you're here at North Side Trail.
