Monument Trail has a total elevation difference of 974 feet, and that is lower than average. Monument Trail has two trailheads, so hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. This backcountry hiking trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. This walk shouldn't take more than 2.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Being 2.6 miles long it's a short wilderness hiking trail. At parts of the year this area sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The wilderness hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your walk.
