California hiking trails - Monument Trail, Santa Rosa Mountains, San Diego County

It's a long tour from San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos to Monument Trail, but when you spend some time backcountry hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and if you happen to be in San Diego County of California, Monument Trail is a brilliant local wilderness hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. This backpacking trail is on the short side having an average number of uphill
    miles which makes it a perfect great outdoors hiking trail for the average person looking for a perfect adventure. The amount of precipitation that falls at Monument Trail is close to the national average; March is the wettest month with most rain while June is regularly the driest
month. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Monument Trail temperatures are generally in the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 50's with temperatures at Monument Trail dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. The backpacking trails of the Santa Rosa Mountains are the best way to enjoy these highlands. Monument Trail is a two ended backpacking and hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you  
have someone to pick you up at the other end. Sometimes this wilderness trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The total elevation difference for Monument Trail is 974 feet which is lower than average. Hiking trails for backcountry trekking, and backpacking can be found all over California; one of them being Monument Trail in San Diego County. You spend the whole walk in roughly the same elevation zone, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your walk. Being 2.6 miles long it's shorter than many wilderness hiking trails. This is one of many great outdoors hiking trails in the surrounding neighborhood. This is not a very long wilderness trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. There are plenty of backcountry trails in California; each one of them is worth backcountry trekking. With so many outdoors endeavors available in California you'll never get bored. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 2.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Green Valley is next to Monument Trail and is beyond doubt a great place to stop by; Thousand Trails is a delightful local campground. This spot, the Santa Rosa Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining things. It's always great to pop by Japacha Spring, and Juaquapin Creek is near Monument Trail and is always a pleasure to visit.
Arroyo Seco is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at. Green Valley Falls is a wonderful local attraction; Monument Trail is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Oakzanita Springs Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby.
