Upper Pines Campground is a magnificent campground here; you should certainly dedicate some time to Pohono Meadow since you're here at Mono Meadow Trail. Merced River - South Fork is a good whitewater spot near Mono Meadow Trail, and don’t forget to check out Mono Meadow since you're here at Mono Meadow Trail.
Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Mono Meadow Trail. A quick spree to Illilouette Creek in the vicinity of Mono Meadow Trail is a great idea, and a journey to Yosemite National Park is worthwhile.
