California hiking trails - Mono Meadow Trail, Central Sierra Nevada, Mariposa County

   
  If you happen to be in California, why not go backcountry hiking, it is so much fun. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Mono Meadow Trail in Mariposa County, California is the great outdoors at its best. Every California great outdoors trail is wonderful in its own way. This trail has a total elevation difference of 1,019 feet, and that is about average. There is only one trailhead, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This vicinity does get very
    dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This backcountry hike shouldn't take more than 4.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The length of Mono Meadow Trail is
about average having an average number of uphill miles which makes this trail fine for the average trekker looking for an exciting adventure. Mono Meadow Trail gets a good deal of water; January is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is July. All through the summer months at Mono Meadow Trail temperatures are mostly in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Mono Meadow Trail through the wintertime usually fall into the 20's. Mono Meadow Trail is not  
very near Madera at all, but great outdoors hiking trails like these are good. There are many fine great outdoors trails in California, and Mono Meadow Trail in Mariposa County is one of them. Mono Meadow Trail is 5.2 miles long it's an average length hiking trail. There are so many trails in this area. Backcountry hiking in California is such an excellent thing to do. Hiking and backpacking trails like this one here in the Central Sierra Nevada are a really great way to spend quality time in the wilderness. Even though this is not a very long wilderness hiking trail it's always good to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. There's not much difference in elevation along Mono Meadow Trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish.

Briefly about the general area:
Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Mono Meadow Trail. Get wet paddling on Merced River - South Fork, and do put some time aside to spend at Illilouette Falls while you're here at Mono Meadow Trail. That right there is plenty of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Central Sierra Nevada has it all. Mono Meadow is right here at Mono Meadow Trail.
Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Mono Meadow Trail is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Lower Pines Campground is a good spot to camp nearby; Vernal Fall is a magnificent local attraction. Upper Pines Campground is a nice campground nearby, and a magnificent place to check out nearby is Illilouette Gorge. Looking for some flowing water? Try Illilouette Creek, and Yosemite National Park is a pleasant national park.
A glorious place like Pohono Meadow here at Mono Meadow Trail is too great to miss, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Yosemite Creek.
