California hiking trails - Mist Trail, Central Sierra Nevada, Mariposa County

   
  It's a long drive from Madera to Mist Trail, but many folks like to backcountry trek here to be close to the great outdoors. Here in the great state of California backcountry hiking is a magnificent idea. Hey, time for a backcountry trek don’t you think? Mist Trail in Mariposa County, California is a great site for getting out. As long as you like nature you will like California. Every California trail is different from the others. The hiking trails of the Central Sierra Nevada are a very great way to see these peaks. The total elevation difference for
    this great outdoors trail is 1,214 feet which is about average. This area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This great outdoors trail has only one trailhead, so in and
out is the way to backcountry walk it normally. California has plenty of great trails; among these are Mist Trail in Mariposa County. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. This is just one of a large number of backpacking trails in this neighborhood. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mist Trail a wet site; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is July. This hiking and backpacking trail is not that long but it's always nice to bring some emergency supplies, you  
never know what could happen. Mist Trail is on the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a nice backpacking trail for the average person looking for a nice adventure. The wilderness hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry trek. All through the summertime at Mist Trail temperatures are usually in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's while Mist Trail overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. The time needed for this walk is roughly 2.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. With its 2.8 miles of walking distance it's a shorter type backcountry trek.

Briefly about the general area:
All the outdoors fun things in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back repeatedly. Put some time aside to spend at Vernal Fall if you're here at Mist Trail, and do pay a visit to Yosemite National Park while you're here at Mist Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff at Mist Trail. You can run the rapids of Tenaya Creek near Mist Trail, and do stop by Illilouette Creek since you're here at Mist Trail.
Silver Apron is a wonderful local attraction, and close by Illilouette Gorge is a great place to go. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a delightful time. Tenaya Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth going to, and a fine place to camp here at Mist Trail is Upper Pines Campground.
Camping is available at North Pines Campground, and there's whitewater on Yosemite Creek for all you adrenaline junkies.
