California hiking trails - Mist Trail, Central Sierra Nevada, Mariposa County

   
  Hiking here in California is a great way to spend some time. Outdoors folks generally like this part of California. You'll have got to go far from Madera to get to Mist Trail, but it is a really fine wilderness trail. Throughout the summer here at Mist Trail, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Mist Trail descend into the 20's. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions
    or closures before you go. With its 2.8 miles of walking distance it's shorter than many hiking and backpacking trails. Each backcountry trail in California is well worth a walk. Mist Trail is on the short side having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a nice hiking
trail for the average person looking for a nice adventure. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Mist Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Finally, hiking time is here again, and Mist Trail in Mariposa County, California is a fine location for getting out. This is one of many hiking trails in the surrounding neighborhood. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more  
than 2.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. You spend the whole backcountry hike in roughly the same elevation zone, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry hike. The beautiful hiking and backpacking trails of the Central Sierra Nevada are a very splendid way to see these mountaintops. Backcountry trails for trekking, and backpacking can be found all over California; one of them being Mist Trail in Mariposa County. A lot of rain falls at Mist Trail; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest. Mist Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,214 feet, and that is about average. Mist Trail is a one trailhead hiking trail, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Mist Trail. Vernal Fall is an inspiring location to stop at while you're here, and since you're here why not stop at Illilouette Gorge. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yosemite Creek; some nearby water includes Tenaya Creek.
Tenaya Creek has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot close by; camping at North Pines Campground is always a perfect experience. Do pay a visit to Yosemite National Park if you're here at Mist Trail, and don't leave Mist Trail without first paying a visit to Silver Apron. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. If you came to camp Upper Pines Campground is a pleasant site to do that, and Illilouette Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at.
