California hiking trails - Milk Ranch Trail, Klamath Mountains, Colusa County

   
  Milk Ranch Trail is a backcountry hiking trail quite far from Clearlake, but it is a really pleasant backcountry hiking trail. When you're here in California backcountry hiking along one of its hiking trails is so much fun. Every single California hiking trail is worth backcountry hiking. The time needed for this trek is roughly 5.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This backcountry hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp

Ranch Trail is a magnificent local backcountry hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Milk Ranch Trail, and the night is a bit colder of course, usually in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 50's with temperatures at Milk Ranch Trail dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. The length of Milk Ranch Trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this hiking trail splendid for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. The total elevation  
difference for this backcountry trail is 1,706 feet, and that is about average. Some parts of Milk Ranch Trail are much higher up than other parts of the wilderness trail, and that means that some parts of the wilderness trail could be very different from other parts of it. Being 6.4 miles long it's an average length wilderness trail. This is a long backcountry hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. This backcountry trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry walk. Backpacking trails are magnificent and plentiful in California, and Milk Ranch Trail in Colusa County is one of them. There are so many hiking trails in this neighborhood. The backcountry trails of the Klamath Mountains are the best way to enjoy these highlands. Backpacking in California is such a splendid thing to do. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping.

Briefly about the general area:
Just can't get enough of Milk Ranch Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Milk Ranch Trail has to offer, you can camp at Mill Valley Campground; do put some time aside to spend at Box Spring while you're here at Milk Ranch Trail. There's so much to do here at Milk Ranch Trail that you need to camp here for a while, North Fork Campground is a wonderful location for that, and if you come at the right time of year, Eel River offers some great whitewater.
Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Klamath Mountains. Bear Wallow Creek is a stream that you may bump into while you're here; a nice spot like Rattlesnake Glade here at Milk Ranch Trail is too good to miss. This river is so perfect. Letts Creek flows through this vicinity, and Deafy Glade is a good site here at Milk Ranch Trail. So much entertaining stuff in the Klamath Mountains, just incredible.
It's always nice to explore Summit Spring, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Stony Creek.
