Lake Cuyamaca is a great location to camp nearby. Don't leave Middle Peak Loop Trail without first paying a visit to Azalea Spring, and there's always Cuyamaca Dam to pop by in the neighborhood of Middle Peak Loop Trail. A pleasant visit to Fern Flat is a great way to spend an afternoon.
