California hiking trails - Middle Peak Loop Trail, Santa Rosa Mountains, San Diego County

When was the last time you got out in the fresh air a bit? Middle Peak Loop Trail in San Diego County, California is just the location. California is a fine outdoors state. It's a long trip from San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos to Middle Peak Loop Trail, but you always have a tremendous time when you're backcountry trekking along it. Even though this is not a very long trail you should still bring some emergency
    supplies just in case something happens. Middle Peak Loop Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry hiking it in and back out. This great outdoors trail is on the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a brilliant hiking trail for the
average person looking for a brilliant adventure. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This is one of many hiking trails in the surrounding vicinity. When you're here in California backcountry backpacking along one of its backpacking trails is the fine thing to do. A typical amount of rain falls here at Middle Peak Loop Trail; during the month of March you get the most rain around here while June is commonly the driest month. This trail sometimes gets very dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local  
forest authorities before you head out. You should count on this walk taking about 2.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. You spend the whole trek in roughly the same elevation zone which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Trails like this one here in the Santa Rosa Mountains are a really great way to spend quality time in the outdoors. Throughout the months of summer, highs typically are in the 90's at Middle Peak Loop Trail; the overnight is slightly chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's; overnight lows at Middle Peak Loop Trail through the wintertime mostly fall into the 20's. The total elevation difference for this backcountry trail is 620 feet which is a lower than average number. Being 2.6 miles long it's shorter than many hiking and backpacking trails. There are numerous backpacking trails in California, and each one is different from the others.

The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at La Puerta Springs, and Paso Picacho Campground is a pleasant campground nearby. So many exciting things to do here in the Santa Rosa Mountains, too glorious to be true. Do set aside some time for Cherry Flat if you're here at Middle Peak Loop Trail, and Middle Peak Loop Trail is a great location to visit for more than one day, Lake Cuyamaca is a great location to camp nearby.
Don't leave Middle Peak Loop Trail without first paying a visit to Azalea Spring, and there's always Cuyamaca Dam to pop by in the neighborhood of Middle Peak Loop Trail. A pleasant visit to Fern Flat is a great way to spend an afternoon.
