California hiking trails - McKinstry Trail, Northern Sierra Nevada, Placer County

   
  Each backcountry hiking trail in California is well worth a hike. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and McKinstry Trail in Placer County, California is a nice place for getting out. In California you never run out of outdoors fun. Now, this is roughly a 2.5-day backcountry walk, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. McKinstry Trail is a two ended hiking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry hike it just one way. McKinstry Trail is a wet location that gets much precipitation; January
    is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is July. Being 16 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry walk. Backcountry hiking here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a really fine way to spend quality time in the outdoors. California has plenty of good backcountry
hiking trails; one of these is McKinstry Trail in Placer County. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The length of McKinstry Trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this backpacking and hiking trail glorious for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Some parts of McKinstry Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry hiking trail, and that means that some parts of the backcountry hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. During the  
days of summer at McKinstry Trail temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's with temperatures at McKinstry Trail dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Backcountry hiking in California is always an enjoyable thing to do. Keep in mind that this is a long wilderness trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. There are so many backpacking and hiking trails in this area. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. McKinstry Trail is not very in close proximity to Gardnerville Ranchos at all, but when you spend some time backcountry backpacking here you will feel like a whole new person. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 2,734 feet, and that is higher than average.

Briefly about the general area:
The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Mineral Springs, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Silver Creek - South Fork. Yep, outdoors entertaining things truly is abundant here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Some of the water nearby flows, like Five Lakes Creek.
There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on American River - South Fork, and a good site is Steamboat Canyon. Hunters Spring is an inspiring place to visit during your stay; a pleasant tour to Little McKinstry Meadow is a glorious way to spend an afternoon. Wentworth Springs Campground is a good local campground; McKinstry Meadow is a wonderful location to stretch your legs a bit.
So many entertaining things to do here at McKinstry Trail, too wonderful to be true. McKinstry Trail is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Hell Hole-In Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby, and getting to Barker Creek from McKinstry Trail is trouble-free.
