California hiking trails - McKinstry Trail, Northern Sierra Nevada, Placer County

   
  Trails for backcountry hiking, and backpacking can be found all over California; one of them being McKinstry Trail in Placer County. Of course, this is an overnight hike, 2.5 days normally, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. Here in California backcountry hiking is a splendid idea. The total elevation difference for McKinstry Trail is 2,734 feet which is a higher than average number. This great outdoors
    hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The high level of rainfall makes McKinstry Trail a reasonably wet spot; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest month
of the year is July. A lengthy tour divides Gardnerville Ranchos from McKinstry Trail, but It's always amusing to hike here. McKinstry Trail is a very long backcountry trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backpacking trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for a tremendous challenge. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at McKinstry Trail get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here  
at McKinstry Trail. McKinstry Trail is 16 miles long; it's longer than many hiking and backpacking trails. This is a great outdoors hiking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Put on your hiking shoes, and hit the hiking trail, McKinstry Trail in Placer County, California is a nice location to go. Different parts of this hiking and backpacking trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking and backpacking trail. McKinstry Trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. Hiking here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a really perfect way to spend quality time in the outdoors. This is a vicinity covered with lots of backpacking trails.

Briefly about the general area:
If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. A visit to McKinstry Meadow invigorates the spirit. Steamboat Canyon is in the neighborhood of McKinstry Trail and is a tremendous place, and a good site to camp here at McKinstry Trail is Wentworth Springs Campground.
Yep, outdoors fun things truly is plentiful here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Paddling on American River - South Fork is so much fun, and a short spree to Mineral Springs is always worthwhile. Hunters Spring is a beautiful location to pop by while you're at McKinstry Trail; camping is available at Hell Hole-In Campground. Yeah, come here to McKinstry Trail for a great time. Barker Creek flows through this region, and Little McKinstry Meadow is a perfect location.
Five Lakes Creek is a stream that you may run into while here, and whitewater paddling is great on Silver Creek - South Fork.
