California hiking trails - McKinley Firebreak, San Bernardino Mountains, San Bernardino County

   
  It's a long trip from Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario to McKinley Firebreak, but many folks like to backcountry walk here to be in the vicinity of the outdoors. California is a perfect spot for backcountry walkers. There are plenty of wilderness trails in California; each one of them is different from the others. This hiking and backpacking trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the
    way to backcountry trek it normally. This is just one of a large number of backcountry hiking trails in this vicinity. The stunning great outdoors trails of the San Bernardino Mountains are the best way to enjoy these mountains. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly
3 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Around McKinley Firebreak you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is January, and July on the other hand is the driest. The total elevation difference for McKinley Firebreak is 2,228 feet which is about average. Backcountry hiking trails for backcountry backpacking, and backpacking can be found all over California; one of them being McKinley Firebreak in San Bernardino County. This area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you  
check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Even though this is not a very long great outdoors hiking trail it's always delightful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. All through the summer months at McKinley Firebreak highs are commonly in the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are typically in the 60's with winter lows in the 40's overnight here at McKinley Firebreak. If you happen to be in California, why not go backcountry backpacking, it is so much fun. McKinley Firebreak goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the trail. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. With its 3.4 miles of walking distance it's shorter than many trails. McKinley Firebreak is a very short great outdoors trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a brilliant backcountry hiking trail for the average person looking for a brilliant adventure.

People from Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario love to come to McKinley Firebreak, and some close by water includes West Fork City Creek. Why not camp at San Bernardino Recreation Park if you're here at McKinley Firebreak, and why not take a little spree to East Fork City Creek while you're here.
Camping is available at Dogwood Campground. So much entertaining stuff to do in the San Bernardino Mountains, not enough time. Cook Canyon is close to McKinley Firebreak and is a good spot, and great water scenery is available at Dynamite Dam near McKinley Firebreak.
