adventure. Being 4.2 miles long it's a mid length backcountry trek. The time needed for this trek is roughly 3.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster.
Briefly about the general area:
Machos Spring is always fun to check out; get your
heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Cuyama River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Santa Lucia Range. If you're here, you might as well visit Coyote Hole, and Machesna Spring is a good local attraction.

Agua Escondido Campground is a good local campground. There's so much to do here at Machesna Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Stony Creek Campground is a good spot for that; a great place like Machesna Potrero here at Machesna Trail is too great to miss.
