California hiking trails - Low Gap Trail, Klamath Mountains, Siskiyou County

Finally, backcountry trekking time is here again, and Low Gap Trail in Siskiyou County, California is the fresh air at its best. If you happen to be in California, why not go backcountry trekking, it is the magnificent thing to do. You should count on this backcountry walk taking about 6 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Low Gap Trail is positioned a pretty long journey from Grants Pass, but what an excellent
    place for backcountry trekking it is. With its 7 miles of walking distance it's a mid length walk. Summertime at Low Gap Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. For the duration of the winter the highs are
mostly in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Low Gap Trail throughout the winter mostly drop into the 30's. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. This is a wilderness trail that is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Different parts of Low Gap Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. This is one of a very small number of wilderness trails in this area. If you are in California during backcountry hiking season you have to go  
backcountry hiking. Low Gap Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,349 feet which is an average number. This backcountry hiking trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Every California hiking trail has something unique to offer. The annual rainfall here at Low Gap Trail is about average; throughout the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This hiking and backpacking trail is a mid length hiking and backpacking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a magnificent wilderness trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in perfect shape. The beautiful hiking and backpacking trails of the Klamath Mountains are a really great way to spend quality time in the outdoors. This region does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out.

Briefly about the general area:
You might want to pay a visit to Low Gap since you're here at Low Gap Trail; Low Gap Trail is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Fort Goff Campground is a nice location to camp nearby. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Klamath Mountains. Klamath River is a good whitewater spot close to Low Gap Trail.
You have to undeniably dedicate some time to Bee Flat since you're here at Low Gap Trail; if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Indian Creek Klamath Tributary. Do set aside some time for Bee Flat since you're here at Low Gap Trail; why not a little side tour to Low Gap Creek. And that's not all you can do here at Low Gap Trail. You'll meet a lot of folks from Grants Pass here; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Whisky Spring.
Having a pleasant time in the Klamath Mountains is simple. Cook and Green Campground is a glorious local campground, and of course O'Connell Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth a visit.
