    it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Backpacking trails are pleasant and plentiful in California, and Lost Palms Trail in Riverside County is one of them. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions
and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. This is a backpacking and hiking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Lost Palms Trail is pretty dried out generally; the month with most of the rain is August while June is generally the driest month. Every California trail is striking in its own way. This is one of a very small number of wilderness hiking trails in this region. During the warm months here at Lost Palms Trail,  
high temperatures commonly reach the 100's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 70's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 60's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Lost Palms Trail. With its 14.8 miles of walking distance; it's longer than many great outdoors hiking trails. Some parts of this great outdoors hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the great outdoors hiking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the great outdoors hiking trail. This backpacking trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough wilderness hiking trail for advanced backcountry trekkers looking for a great challenge. Now, this is roughly a 2-day trek, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Lost Palms Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,857 feet, and that is about average.

Briefly about the general area:
Red Butte Wash flows through this vicinity; Lost Palms Trail is near Cottonwood Canyon which is definitely worth visiting. If you came to camp Mecca Beach Campground is a brilliant place to do that; Cottonwood Spring is a pretty place to visit while you're at Lost Palms Trail.
There's so much to do here at Lost Palms Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Los Frijoles Campground is a great spot for that, and Lost Palms Oasis is a perfect local attraction.
