California hiking trails - Los Pinos Trail, Santa Ana Mountains, Orange County

   
  Gotta get out of the urban center man, and Los Pinos Trail in Orange County, California is such a perfect spot. that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. There are plenty of great outdoors trails in California; each one of them is well worth a walk. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The backpacking and hiking trails of the Santa Ana Mountains are the best way to enjoy these hills. This backcountry walk should take you about 2 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. Now this wilderness trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Trails for backcountry hiking, and backpacking can be found all over California, and one of these is Los Pinos Trail in Orange County. Throughout the warm days of summer here at Los Pinos Trail, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 60's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Los Pinos Trail fall into the 40's. Los Pinos Trail is many miles long having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a magnificent great outdoors hiking trail for experienced hikers in fine shape. This is a one trailhead wilderness hiking trail, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out.

Briefly about the general area:
Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Santa Ana Mountains. Alder Spring is always fun to check out; Verdugo Potrero is a wonderful location to stretch your legs a bit. Float down the rapids of Santa Margarita River in a kayak, and camping is available at Falcon Campground.
A pleasant trip to Bear Flat is a nice way to spend an afternoon, and Los Pinos Trail is right next door to Holy Jim Canyon which is unquestionably worth a visit. Los Pinos Trail really is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Chiquito Spring is a beautiful site to check out while you're at Los Pinos Trail; camping at Trabuco Campground is always a nice experience.
