California hiking trails - Los Pinos Trail, Santa Ana Mountains, Orange County

    really nice way to spend quality time in the outdoors. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 2 days normally, so it's a good thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. Los Pinos Trail is generally a rather dried up spot; through the month of January you get
the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This great outdoors trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the great outdoors trail could be very different from other parts of it. This is a one trailhead backpacking trail, so you'll be trekking it in and back out. for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Keep in mind that this is a long backpacking and hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Sometimes this backpacking and hiking trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Each wilderness hiking trail in California is well worth a backcountry hike. There are so many wilderness trails in this region. At Los Pinos Trail during the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and the night is quite colder of course, generally in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 60's, and night lows at Los Pinos Trail during the wintertime generally dip into the 40's. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in the great outdoors a bit, and Los Pinos Trail in Orange County, California is just the spot. With its 15 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer backcountry trek.

Briefly about the general area:
Los Pinos Trail is a brilliant site to visit for more than one day, Falcon Campground is a brilliant site to camp nearby, and Alder Spring is an inspiring place to take a look at while here. While you're here at Los Pinos Trail it's a good idea to check out Verdugo Potrero, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Santa Margarita River.
And if that's not sufficient there's loads more entertaining things to do in the Santa Ana Mountains. A perfect site to check out in close proximity to Los Pinos Trail is Holy Jim Canyon; don't leave Los Pinos Trail without first paying a visit to Chiquito Spring. Do set aside some time for Bear Flat since you're here at Los Pinos Trail, and Trabuco Campground is a nice campground nearby. What a place this is for outdoors folks.
