Cold Springs Campground is a magnificent local campground; there's whitewater on Fordyce Creek for all you adrenaline people.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Yuba River - South Fork, and if you came for an overnight stay Sterling Lake Campground is a delightful place to camp.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Loch Leven Trail is not far at all from Truckee-Grass Valley, and a visit to Pelham Flat revives the spirit.
